1. Parties and scope

This Domain Registration Agreement applies to all domain names registered, transferred or renewed through NamelyHost, in addition to our Terms of Service. Where a specific registry requires additional terms (for example, .my domains registered via MYNIC), those terms also apply.

2. Accurate contact information

You warrant that the registrant, administrative, technical and billing contact information you provide is accurate, complete and current. You agree to update it within 7 days of any change. Providing false WHOIS data is grounds for cancellation without refund and may breach ICANN policy.

3. Registrant rights and responsibilities

As registrant you have the right to: transfer the domain to another registrar after the initial 60-day lock, update contact data, and renew the domain before expiry. You are responsible for: maintaining accurate contact data, responding to registry verification requests, and ensuring your use of the domain does not infringe third-party rights.

4. WHOIS publication

Registry policy requires that contact data be published in the WHOIS directory. Some registries (.com, .net) redact personal data by default; others (.my) publish it. WHOIS privacy protection, where available, replaces your contact data with a privacy service address.

5. Dispute resolution

By registering a domain, you agree to be bound by the Uniform Domain-Name Dispute-Resolution Policy (UDRP) for gTLDs, or the equivalent policy for the relevant ccTLD (for example, the MYNIC Dispute Resolution Policy for .my). Disputes may result in transfer, cancellation or other remedies against the domain.

6. Term, renewal and expiry

Domains are registered for a term of one or more years, subject to the registry's minimum. We will attempt to renew the domain automatically from a valid payment method on file, and will send renewal reminders 30, 15 and 5 days before expiry. If renewal fails, the domain enters the registry's expiry workflow.

7. Transfers

Transfers in: once the transfer completes, you typically gain an additional 1 year of registration (registry-specific). Transfers out: you may transfer at any time after the initial 60-day lock by unlocking the domain and requesting an auth code from the Control Panel. We do not charge a transfer-out fee.

8. Expiry, redemption and deletion

If a domain is not renewed, it typically enters:

  • Grace period (0 to 30 days after expiry) - renewable at normal price.
  • Redemption Grace Period (30 to 60 days) - recoverable at a registry-set redemption fee, typically USD 100 to 250.
  • Pending delete (60 to 75 days) - cannot be recovered; domain returns to the public pool thereafter.

9. ICANN Registrants' Benefits and Responsibilities

For gTLD registrations, ICANN's Registrants' Benefits and Responsibilities apply. You should familiarise yourself with these rights.

10. Special rules for .my domains

.my domains (.my, .com.my, .org.my, .net.my and others) are governed by MYNIC's Rules and Policies. Registrants must typically demonstrate a Malaysian presence, whether as an individual with a valid identification number or as a registered Malaysian entity. See mynic.my for full eligibility.

11. Limitation of liability

NamelyHost's liability for any dispute relating to a domain registration is limited as set out in the Terms of Service. We are not liable for registry decisions or delays outside our control.
